Hayman’s Dry Gin has a rich history that dates back to the 19th century. The Hayman family, who still owns and operates the distillery today, has been involved in the production of gin for over 150 years.

The origins of the family’s gin-making legacy can be traced back to the 1860s when Christopher Hayman’s great-grandfather, James Burrough, established a gin distillery in London. James Burrough is known for creating Beefeater Gin, which is still produced today.

In the 1920s, James Burrough & Sons merged with another gin company, W&A Gilbey, to form a new company called International Distillers & Vintners. The Hayman family remained involved in the production of gin through their work with this company.

In the 1980s, Christopher Hayman began working for the family business and helped to create a new gin brand, Hayman’s London Dry Gin, which was launched in 2004. This gin was crafted using a recipe that had been passed down through generations of the Hayman family.

In 2008, Hayman’s London Dry Gin was rebranded as Hayman’s 1820 Gin, a reference to the year that James Burrough established his first gin distillery. This gin was later renamed as Hayman’s Dry Gin in 2018 to better reflect its classic London dry style.

Today, Hayman’s Dry Gin is still produced using traditional distillation methods and the same recipe that has been passed down through generations of the Hayman family. The distillery also produces other gin varieties, including Old Tom Gin and Sloe Gin, all of which are made with a focus on quality and craftsmanship.
