History
Bulleit’s 10 Year Bourbon is a relatively new addition to the Bulleit Frontier Whiskey family, which was founded by Tom Bulleit in 1987. Tom’s great-great-grandfather, Augustus Bulleit, was a distiller in the mid-19th century who created a high-rye bourbon recipe that became known as Bulleit Bourbon.
After many years of being out of production, Tom revived the Bulleit brand in 1987 and began producing Bulleit Bourbon according to his family’s original recipe. The brand quickly gained a reputation for its bold, spicy flavor and became a favorite among whiskey enthusiasts.
In 2007, Bulleit introduced its 10 Year Bourbon, which is aged for a minimum of 10 years in charred American oak barrels. This premium whiskey quickly became a popular choice among whiskey aficionados, thanks to its rich and complex flavor profile.
Today, Bulleit’s 10 Year Bourbon is still made according to the original Bulleit family recipe, and it is distilled and aged at the historic Stitzel-Weller Distillery in Kentucky.
