Oaxacan Sunrise Cocktail

Today on Booze On The Rocks we show you how to make the OAXACAN SUNRISE cocktail. This Version of the Oaxacan Sunrise for goes the typical orange juice and grenadine that you would fall into the original. Instead we use ginger and lime to build a smokey cocktail with light spice. The bitters give a greater depth of flavor as well as a stunning layer of color on top. Try it out and let me know what you think.



  • Add the first three ingredients to the shaker tin.
    1.5 oz Mezcal, .5 oz Ginger Syrup, .75 oz Lime Juice
  • Shake with ice for 10-15 seconds.
  • Free pour the mixture onto a rocks glass over crushed ice.
  • Float the Peychauds on top.
    2-4 Dashes Peychauds Bitters
  • Garnish with a lime wedge.
