El Macuá Cocktail
How to make the El Macuá Cocktail. This cocktail is named after the Central American bird, the Macaw. It is also Nicaragua's national cocktail. It was created in 2006 for the El Trago Nacional "National Dink Competition" by Dr. Edmundo Miranda Saenz, a native of Granada, Nicaragua. This competition was backed by the Nicaraguan rum producer Flor de Caña.
INGREDIENTS
- 1.5 oz Flor de Cana Rum
- 1 oz Guava Juice
- 1 oz Orange Juice
- .5 oz Lemon Juice
- .3 oz Simple Syrup
INSTRUCTIONS
- Add all the ingredients to the shaker tin.1.5 oz Flor de Cana Rum, 1 oz Guava Juice, 1 oz Orange Juice, .5 oz Lemon Juice, .3 oz Simple Syrup
- Shake with ice for 10-15 seconds.
- Pour into a highball glass over fresh ice.
- Garnish with an orange slice and a maraschino cherry.
